The Research Center in its’ development of a strategic action plan for the next two years will focus on research issues related to oncology and palliative care envisioning an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach to care that is informed by high level evidence-based research outcomes. The plan will incorporate the current developments in the fields of oncology and palliative care and correspond to the emerging needs of those in the receiving end of care.
Strategic Partnerships
The collaboration and forming strategic partnerships with official bodies of Oncology and Palliative Care and Universities in Cyprus, Europe and beyond, in order to exchange expertise and provide support to the state to address issues related to these fields.
European Research Network
The development of a European network for research on issues related to patients diagnosed with and living with cancer and patients requiring palliative care. The ultimate objective of the center is to become the reference point for Research in Oncology and Palliative Care in Cyprus.
Technological Solutions
The investigation in terms of introducing technological solutions in the care of patients diagnosed with and living with cancer to manage symptoms and improve quality of life. The applications of technology will be explored in the prevention as well as the early detection phases of the disease. The center will pioneer innovative solutions and clinically test their effectiveness in various populations and groups.
Translational Research
The initialization of projects that focus on translational research across the disease continuum.
Policy Input
The center will provide policy input in various forums in the fields of Oncology and Palliative Care with the aim to address challenges that derive from access, equity, quality care, disparities, and other potential areas of inequalities.
